MaRue -That's me Maria

I've always drawn, I loved putting lines on paper and creating something new, unique and emotional . But before I turned this love into my profession, my life took me on a different path, into the science of life, biology. This passion also took me to the Azorean island of Pico when I was 17 years old, a lot of visits followed in the past 20 years.

After my first journey to Pico, I started studying biology and completed it with a doctorate in the field of ecology. My journey always took me back to Pico, but also to many other foreign places such as Salvador de Bahia in Brazil, Panama (Barro Colorado Island), the Pantanal of Brazil and for a long time also to Tanzania to the  Kilimanjaro Mountain. I met countless people along my way, some of whom became very good friends. This also includes my beloved husband, who is accompanying me since 20 years. My life finally took me to Leipzig where I live with my family  the past 10 years.

An emotional crisis made me want to change something in my life and pursue my other passion, the art, to devote more attention. Art, illustration, the love of lines and colors literally saved me and it was the most logical step for me to finally turn this love into my profession.
